ConSensQ Webinar: Achieving PPWR Targets Through Collaboration Across the Value Chain

ConSensQ invites stakeholders from across the plastics and packaging value chain to join its online webinar, “Achieving PPWR Targets Through Collaboration Across the Value Chain,” on 20 November 2026 from 10:30 to 11:30 CET.

Achieving the ambitions of the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) requires close cooperation throughout the value chain. Increasing the use of recycled plastics in packaging depends on confidence in their quality, safety and suitability for the intended application.

ConSensQ is contributing to these goals by developing a voluntary quality management guideline for post-consumer recycled plastics in contact-sensitive applications. By bringing together recyclers, converters and downstream users, the consortium aims to establish a common understanding of quality requirements and practical approaches to meeting them. This work is intended to support the wider uptake of recycled plastics and contribute to the PPWR’s recycled-content and circularity objectives.

The webinar programme will include:

  • Why create a consortium on quality management for recycled plastics?
Dr. Michael Scriba, CosPaTox and ConSensQ Chair
  • What has industry achieved so far?
Dr. Heiner Gers-Barlag, CosPaTox and ConSensQ founding member
  • Implementing the PPWR
Emmanuelle Maire, Head of Unit, Bioeconomy and Sustainable Materials, European Commission (DG Environment)
  • The ConSensQ approach to quality management
Dr. Dennis Bankmann (Emerging Motif), Scientific Consultant to ConSensQ
  • Q&A

Recyclers, waste managers, packaging producers, brand owners and retailers are invited to learn more about the ConSensQ approach and its potential benefits for their businesses. Input from across the value chain can help ensure that the guideline reflects real production conditions and the needs of the companies that will use it.
